This website is designed to provide information about training courses and NVQ for social care workers for a variety of potential learners.
We hope we can help you whether you work for Oxfordshire County Council or for independent, voluntary and private providers of care in Oxfordshire including foster parents.
OXCARE is the Oxfordshire County Council NVQ Centre for Health and Social Care. We have a team of highly qualified and experienced NVQ Assessors and Internal Verifiers with an excellent reputation with the City and Guilds awarding body.
OXCARE offers high quality NVQ provision to employees in the social care sector; enabling them to gain the qualification they need to meet government requirements to raise the quality of care to vulnerable people in Oxfordshire. Our assessors provide appropriate individualised support to candidates ensuring the learning experience is positive and enjoyable

Basic skills in the care sector
All care workers registering for NVQ complete a skills analysis of their English and Maths. They are offered the chance to improve these skills through the Oxfordshire Adult Learning Service or with help from their assessor.

OXCARE is thinking about delivering some Distance Learning Programmes as follows:
- Level 3 Certificate in Palliative Care
- Level 2 Certificate in Handling Medicines Safely
- Level 2 Certificate in Dementia Awareness
- Level 2 Award in the Prevention and Control of Infection
